Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date to be set at publication]
This policy explains what personal data kabrannock.com (“the site”, “we”) collects, why, and what your rights are. “We” means K. A. Brannock, the author behind this site. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Newsletter. If you join the Crew, we collect your email address. That is the only field in the form.
Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that does not use cookies and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. It reports aggregate figures such as page views and countries.
Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We do not run advertising pixels and we do not use Google Analytics. Because we set no cookies, you will not see a cookie banner.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your email address to send you The Running Tally, news about new releases and occasional deal alerts. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming your address (double opt-in). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Analytics and server logs rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure website.
Who processes your data
- Kit (kit.com) sends our newsletter and stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf as a data processor.
- BookFunnel may be used to deliver the free story file.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and provides cookie-free analytics.
These providers may process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is aggregated and kept by Cloudflare under its own retention rules.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. To use any of these rights, email [email protected].
How to unsubscribe
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you will be removed right away. You can also email us and we will remove you by hand.
Links to other sites
Book links lead to retailers such as Amazon. They have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes affecting your subscription will be announced by email.
